Last fall, I went to Sam's Club after my first exam of medical school. I bought a giant box of Welch's fruit snacks because I love them.
Anyway, as I was eating the fruit snacks, I noticed every now and then that one of them would taste bad. VERY bad. Like they didn't put sugar in it or something. I was a little upset, but didn't really experience the problem much until the fruit snacks were almost gone, so I just gave the rest to Aaron (who eats things and really doesn't notice what they taste like) and vowed not to buy Welch's fruit snacks for awhile.
Fast forward to this summer. Aaron and I were on our way to gamble in Wheeling, WV and we stopped at Wal-Mart. I bought Welch's fruit snacks for the first time since my bad experience with them last fall. I figured maybe people had complained and they had fixed the problem.
Wrong! As I was eating my second pack from the box, I put a fruit snack in my mouth and was hit with a bitter, awful taste. I literally had to choke the thing down. I'm sure I looked like one of those babies on America's Funniest Home Videos when their mom feeds them something gross. It was really terrible.
Usually, I'm pretty laid back about things, but right now I'm poor, and I threw away a lot of fruit snacks. So I got on welchs.com and filed a complaint. The complaint box would only allow like 100 characters or something, so I had trouble explaining my problem.
Their customer service was really good, though, and they emailed me quickly to get more details. Am I the only person on the planet who has experienced this problem with this product?
So in the mail today, I got coupons from Welch's. One is for a free box of fruit snacks. So this leaves me wondering, do I really want another box? I have had bad luck with them. Granted, I love their fruit snacks when they are normal, but the thought of biting into an abnormal one makes me gag a little. They're that bad. Seriously. But since they're free... I can't pass up free.

nope, can't pass up free. free means you must get the snacks.
Over a year later I'm complaining to them as well. Guess things haven't changed...
